Linda Littlejohn, associate vice president of South Side Initiatives, shared stories of cultures with students from Cameroon, West Africa who are at SU participating in an intensive English program through the English Language Institute (ELI). Littlejohn will travel with her husband, Judge Langston McKinney, to Cameroon this summer while he gives a series of lectures. “The students have had such a positive experience in the ELI program, that they want to return to SU for their doctoral studies,” said Littlejohn. “They talked about home, the foods they miss, and they gave me some tips on traveling to their country.” Littlejohn has something else in common with the students – they know her niece, who works for the State Department in Cameroon. Twelve students, representing six countries in Africa, are studying at SU for seven weeks.
