Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts

The Associate in Arts in Liberal Arts degree (A.A.) provides an interim credential for students working toward the baccalaureate degree. Offered under the auspices of The College of Arts and Sciences, Syracuse University's founding college, the degree provides a sound general education in the liberal arts by combining coursework in the humanities, the natural and social sciences, and mathematics.

Degree Requirements

You must complete a minimum of 60 credits for the degree, meeting the specific requirements of the curriculum detailed in the table below. Up to 30 credits may be transferred from other institutions.

You may complete the A.A. degree with a mix of on-campus, online or a variety of other flexible course formats.

Because the average course load is six-to-nine credits per semester, you could conceivably complete the degree in three to four years, if you enroll on a regular basis. You must achieve a minimum 2.0 average to graduate from the program.
